Proscriptio —
A Requiem in Nine Stations.

Entering the space, one is met with a sacred force that instantly takes the breath away: deep, thrumming frequencies, choral reverb, and raw industrial sounds penetrate the body before the eyes can even adjust to the dark.

Proscriptio encloses the visitor in an expansive semicircular arc. Nine stations trace the liturgical severity of the Requiem;from relentless indictment to the final, pleading cry. Each panel tilts noticeably forward into the room, leaning toward whoever enters. The inescapable confrontation of the ordeal.

Image, Light, Spatial Sound

  1. Each of the nine stations carries four layers:

  2. 1 The Print — fine-art print on Alu-Dibond, 80 × 120 cm, tilted toward the center
  3. 2 The Light Cone — a hard-edge spot, aimed precisely at the motif
  4. 3 The Room Sound — the Requiem and verse atmo cycles
  5. 4 The Headphone Sound — the witness's verse

  6. No layer runs on its own.

Ground Projection

  1. Beneath one's feet unfolds a monumental portrait of the figure, formed entirely from fine, luminous ASCII particles. Every step physically intervenes in the image:

moving through the space churns up the characters, tears open the stigma, and denies the judgment its definitive form. Yet the moment one stops and merely watches, the particles rebound in silence;the passivity of those present inevitably reassembles the image of the outcast.
Floor projection: reactive particle-ASCII surface that responds to movement

Choreographed Lighting

  1. Sharp light cuts one motif after another from the dark in exact measure; driven first by the harshness of the Requiem, then by the powerfully spoken verses. Chapter by chapter. The room reads the mass for itself.

Delivery Formats

Nine fine-art prints on Hahnemühle Photo Rag, mounted on Alu-Dibond, 3 mm. Dimensions: 80 × 120 cm, unframed.

Audio masters for the Requiem cycle, the spoken verse atmosphere, and the intimate headphone feed; mixed in Dolby Atmos and delivered as discrete multi-channel WAV files matched to the local speaker array.

Dual Audio Architecture

Multi-channel spatial surround paired with sub-bass coupling to induce physical vibration.

Dedicated headphone feed per station, triggered via weight-switch cradle.

Choreographed Lighting

Dimmable LED profile spots with gobo masking; razor-sharp hard-edge crop mapped precisely to the artwork borders, timecode-synchronized to the Requiem.

Interactive Ground Projection

Ceiling-mounted depth-sensing camera for real-time visitor tracking; single or multi-projector array casting the reactive ASCII particle video across the floor plane.

Spatial Requirements

Full-blackout environment (black box), approx. 80–150 m². A semicircular vault or half-dome configuration is preferred; rectangular architectural spaces are viable. Controlled acoustic dampening—all reverberation is generated entirely within the synthetic soundscape.
