Man Made Desert — a thirsty earth does not mean anything good
in a world where stormy heat reigns and water is a fleeting memory
the desertification of the earth continues unceasingly. every year, the desert expands further, devouring fertile soils and habitats, leaving behind barren land and shimmering heat.
the causes are homemade. relentless agriculture, excessive water use, overgrazing and deforestation, road building, and global urbanization have depleted our soil and taken away its fertility.
because desertification is largely triggered by the destructive power of humans, it is also referred to as "man-made deserts."
In the past 30 years, soils have already been degraded on about 30% of the world's land surface. worldwide, about 40% of the land surface is affected by desertification. currently, according to the media, 23 hectares of desert are newly created every minute, and more than 50,000 square kilometers are created every year.
a midjourney exploration about dust, wind, heat and transience.
All we are is dust in the wind. Kansas (1977), YouTube
A message about the transience of human life and the relative insignificance of individual existence in the face of eternal nature.
Our time is limited and everything we have, everything we do, achieve or get, all our successes, fears and hopes: it's just dust in the wind.
Making of
All right, let's start from the beginning: With my 1st prompt I created some dusty and stormy landscapes
sand storm, toxic light, grayscale turbulence, dark gray, strong emotional impact, rays of light, with the fog casting a ghostly glow over the sand
In the second step, I wanted to create faces out of sand that atomized like a sandstorm. But the results were not quite as good as I had hoped.
A face made of exploting sand particles, detailed textures, toxic light, grayscale turbulence, dark gray, strong emotional impact
In the next step, I used the /blend function. I mixed the landscape images with the face images and wrote different prompts to get different results.
/blend
dust.wind.heat.
For this iteration I generated some Maori warriors and different creatures fighting in and fighting with the sand.
