V — the idea
Do you know the feeling of being between two versions of the self? Between the image we present to the world and what we might inwardly wish to be.
We constantly move between roles, expectations, and self-images. On the surface: stable. But if you look beneath it, another form exists.
This in-between space interests me.
With the series V, I try to explore exactly this moment: the state in which something has already begun, without fully revealing itself.
The moment before something becomes itself..
The moment before becoming.
V — the style
For V, the visual style emerged through a longer experimental process. The starting point was the reduction of the image to its elemental components: light, shadow, and movement. The figure is not shown clearly. Its contours dissolve, shift, and reappear. Sharpness is deliberately avoided. Instead, form emerges through transitions, through motion blur, and through the contrast between light and dark. The image shows less a person than a presence. The body becomes a trace in space.
Through this reduction, the focus shifts. It is not the figure itself that stands at the center, but the moment of its appearance. Movement creates a flicker between visibility and dissolution. Black and white intensifies this effect. Without color, only the tension between light and shadow remains. The figure therefore appears almost like a projection—both physical and immaterial.
The visual language thus follows the conceptual core of the series:
the state just before form.
The image is not yet complete.
It is in the process of revealing itself.
